We decided that it would be a good idea to go "home" for Thanksgiving. When we first decided to go the car broke
down so we put the departure date on hold. Got the car back and the cruise control wouldn't work, the horn wouldn't
work and the brake lights stayed on all the time! Bummer! Well, after much searching the mechanic was able to
locate all the shorts and after many $$$ the car was again road worthy.
Departure day was October 28th. We have been at the lodge for some time and it took much longer to pack up then
we thought it would. Of course the fact that I wanted to sew Oliver a new red coat before we left did add a little time
to the departure. It was an important project because it is cold, cold, cold in other states in the winter. Doesn't
he look cute?

We did make a very late departure...3 p.m. We drove about 200 miles and stopped in Lemore, CA at a local
casino. We parked the RV in the lot and went inside. Played a few slots and ate a just passable buffet.
We both slept really good because we were so tired from all the packing we did that day.
We woke early and wandered the back roads until we came to Hwy 99. Our next stop was Bakersfield for gas at Costco.
Our trip was non-descript the rest of the day. We drove to Las Vegas and parked at Sam's Town RV Park. We had
a very nice lunch at Sam's. Their buffet was so much better than the one at the Indian casino. We talked with
Mark and then took Oliver over to meet their dogs at their apartment. From their we followed them over to their new
house. They had signed the papers the day before but couldn't get the keys until the transaction was recorded.
We had dinner with them. It was nice to hear all their plans for their new home.
The next morning Mark called and said they were going to get the keys around noon. By the time we arrived at the
house they had already brought a lot of materials in to begin their transformation. The house was a short sale so they
got a really good deal but with the good deal comes a lot of cleaning. Marisa has been putting updates and pictures
on her blog so we have been able to follow the transformation. They have scrubbed bathrooms, baseboards, cupborads,
etc. They have removed carpet, light fixtures, a garbage disposal, etc. They have painted the living room and
family room and have replaced the living room carpet with bamboo floors. We can't wait to see it on bur trip
back home.
