The hotel is right across the street from the Dance Studio Paige is attending so that makes it really easy for everyone. Julie and Paige had a meeting at 9 a.m. on the first day. Paige's first class was at 11 so she packed a lunch and was off. This meant that Julie and Sue could begin to see New York. We took the #1 subway downtown. Our first experience with the subway was pleasant. The subway station 72 is just 1 1/2 blocks from the hotel. Couldn't be better. We headed down to the Chelsea area. We walked around looking at the neighborhoods and the marvelous architecture of the buildings. One thing we wanted to find was Chelsea Market. The building was originally a Nabisco factory. We sampled brownies at the Fat Witch and ate lunch at Amy's Breads. The Food Network Studios are here but they weren't filming while we were there but that didn't stop us from taking pictures under their sign.

We took the subway back to our hotel. Paige came home and was excited about all that she is learning at the studio. She likes all of her instructors. After she showered, we took the subway to 42nd Street to Times Square. We snapped a couple pictures and then walked around the area. Of course, you can't be in NY and not do some shopping. Paige was able to find several bargains.
