February 2007

Wintering in Arizona...

Hard to believe that it is already February.  We are still in Tempe.  We found The Fish Market in Phoenix yesterday.  Skip was thrilled to get a taste of "home" (San Jose) by getting some clam chowder at The Fish Market.  This has been one of our favorite restaurants for years.  We took a quart of chowder home and shared it with Mark and Ilona.  We also located a quaint little sausage shop.  Sue was thrilled to find "krakow"!  It is a garlic polish lunch meat that is out of this world.  You have to double bag it so that everything in your fridge doesn't taste like garlic.  We went to the Elks lodge for dinner last night with Mark & Ilona.  We ate, drank and talked and talked.  It was the end to a great day.  The weather has been in the mid 60's and will be heading up into the 70's this week.  Of course, that weather report was for those of you back in the midwest!

This weekend is BIG.  The super bowl is always fun but because our team, The Bears, are in it then it is even better.  Skip has a huge Bears flag and a Bears windsock proudly flying from a flag pole attached to the back of the motorhome.  Go Bears!!!

Don't forget that Tuesday is Lin Lee's first Birthday.

We are proud to be fans of the #2 football team...Da Bears!!  The thing about being "real" fans is that you continue your loyalty through good and bad.  We had friends over for brats on Sunday.  It was 70 and beautiful.  Tuesday we both ordered our new glasses.  It will take a couple weeks to get them.  Naturally, being true to form, Sue's glasses cost more than Skip's.  He didn't understand why I couldn't just take the cheapest pair and not worry about how they looked.  Go figure!  After ordering the glasses we stopped by the local RV dealership for lunch.  BBQ'd beef brisket and beans plus drinks.  Did have to talk to a salesman but that was easy.  Skip grilled hamburgers out for dinner and we called it a day.  Talked to Julie and Paige went on her first date.  Hard to believe!  A lot of you remember when she was born.  She is 15 and taking college courses in high school.  Chuck will be here on Thursday.  It will be nice to have him here.  Not much else going on.
